Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about shipping your vehicle or freight with Trivium United.
Auto Transport
How does auto transport work?▾
We connect you with vetted, FMCSA-licensed carriers who specialize in vehicle transport. After you request a quote, we find a carrier that matches your route, timeline, and transport type (open or enclosed). The carrier picks up your vehicle at your door and delivers it to your destination.
How long does auto transport take?▾
Transit times depend on distance. Local moves (under 500 miles) typically take 1-3 days. Cross-country shipments (coast to coast) take 5-10 days. We provide estimated pickup and delivery windows when you book.
What's the difference between open and enclosed transport?▾
Open transport uses an open-air carrier (like the ones you see on highways carrying multiple cars). It's the most affordable option and works great for most vehicles. Enclosed transport uses a fully covered trailer that protects your vehicle from weather and road debris — ideal for luxury, classic, or exotic cars.
Is my vehicle insured during transport?▾
Yes. All carriers in our network carry cargo insurance as required by the FMCSA. Coverage amounts typically range from $100,000 to $250,000. We verify insurance certificates before dispatching any carrier.
Can I ship a non-running vehicle?▾
Yes, we transport inoperable vehicles. The carrier may need a winch or forklift to load it, which can add to the cost. Let us know when requesting a quote so we can match you with the right equipment.
Freight Shipping
What types of freight do you handle?▾
We handle FTL (full truckload) and LTL (less-than-truckload) shipments across all 50 states. Equipment types include dry van, flatbed, reefer (temperature controlled), step deck, and power only.
How is freight pricing calculated?▾
Freight rates depend on distance, weight, dimensions, equipment type, and current market conditions. We provide competitive quotes by checking multiple carrier rates in real time.
Do you handle hazardous materials?▾
Yes, we work with carriers certified for hazmat shipments. Hazmat loads require special documentation and certified drivers. Let us know the specifics when requesting a quote.
Pricing & Payment
How much does it cost to ship a car?▾
Auto transport typically costs between $500-$1,500 for most routes. The exact price depends on distance, vehicle size, transport type (open vs enclosed), time of year, and current carrier availability. Request a free quote for an accurate estimate.
Do I need to pay a deposit?▾
A deposit is collected at booking to secure your carrier. The remaining balance is typically paid at delivery (COD) or according to your payment terms. We accept credit cards, debit cards, ACH, and certified checks.
What payment methods do you accept?▾
We accept all major credit and debit cards, ACH bank transfers, certified checks, and cash on delivery (COD) for the balance payment to the carrier.
Tracking & Delivery
How do I track my shipment?▾
Visit our tracking page at triviumunited.net/track and enter your order number and email. You'll see real-time status updates, estimated pickup/delivery windows, and carrier information.
Will I receive delivery updates?▾
Yes. We send email updates at each milestone: order confirmation, carrier dispatched, vehicle picked up, and delivery completed. You can also check status anytime via the tracking page.
What if my delivery is late?▾
Transport timelines are estimates based on typical conditions. Weather, traffic, and mechanical issues can cause delays. If your shipment is delayed, we'll notify you and work with the carrier to resolve it as quickly as possible.
Cancellation & Changes
Can I cancel my order?▾
You can cancel before a carrier has been dispatched at no charge. Once a carrier is dispatched, cancellation fees may apply. Contact us as soon as possible if you need to make changes.
Can I change my pickup or delivery address?▾
Address changes are possible before pickup. Let us know as soon as possible so we can update the carrier. Significant route changes may affect pricing.
